    Colorado Training Programs

All I ask is to live within driving distance of down-hill skiing. (No comments about Wisconsin/Michigan skiing, please. Their slopes don't even compare with the Rockies' bunny hills.)

    But I digress...

Colorado offers generous training grants through the Colorado First and Exisiting Industry Customized Training programs. Eligible companies are those relocating to Colorado or existing companies that are undertaking a major expansion OR those companies implementing new technology to remain competitive.

Grants will only be awarded to companies that meet a wage threshold (currently $10.46 per hour in urban areas, $8.21 per hour in rural locations). Companies must pay a minimum of 40% of total training costs, but may be awarded up to $800 per employee to help offset the costs.

Colorado's Office of Economic Development and International Trade will help coordinate local colleges or vocational schools to provide the necessary and customized training.

(P.S. Dear Colorado, please put more money into the Job Creation Performance Incentive Fund.)
